@rick: i agree about the design aspect of snowboard-mag.com, especially considering the quality of design when it comes to their mag. however, i made the decision based completely on what they're trying to do, building an active community. thanks for the input! there's always room for disagreement here.

Great site, but I disagree with you slightly on the 5 Best Websites of the Snowboard Industry story. The Snowboard Magazine is probably one of the worst looking snowboard industry website. Yes, the community is there, and it's current but man they could use a graphic re-design. It's terribly ugly.

could it be true? I heard that with the launch of Shaun White's new Target line of clothes, that it's actually not just Shaun taking the plunge, but Burton as a whole! Now I can buy my groceries and my Burton Vapor all in one store!

Last week two more board companies revealed their "new technology". Never Summer announced it's Recurve Camber with Vario Power Grip side-cut for 08/09. And, Signal unveiled their ultra slick, super mind-blowing 3-stage rocker board. Adding them to the list of many board companies to now offer reverse camber. Me? An 18-foot boat used to smuggle drugs washed ashore in Sunset Cliffs with marijuana still on board early Monday morning, authorities said.
When authorities arrived, the boat had been abandoned. Marijuana was found inside the craft, Mack said. The amount of marijuana found was unknown because authorities have not been able to take a close look inside the boat, Mack said.

Renowned surfer Woodbridge Parker "Woody" Brown died Wednesday at Hale Makua, Kahului. He was 96.
"Woody Brown was one of the first and greatest icons in the history of surfing," state Sen. Fred Hemmings said Friday.
"He was the essential surfer, an iconoclast: extremely independent, futuristic and, most especially, healthy — which explains why he lived for 96 very productive, wonderful years," said Hemmings, the 1968 world surfing champion who inaugurated the world professional surfing circuit in 1975. "... I only hope more of us who call ourselves surfers can live the way Woody lived.

Damien Hobgood got sucked backwards over the falls yesterday on an eight-footer at Teahupoo. Apparently someone had called him off the wave, so Damo pulled back, but still got slammed onto the reef. Though he is in stable condition, he did sustain a serious concussion, along with a chewed up shoulder and back, as well as a hole in the head. Initial guesses have him out of the water at least six-eight weeks.

After solid runs by snowboarders, surfers and skaters alike, there were no surprises as the ten-man final was comprised entirely of snowboard focused competitors.
